The Prey 03:12
The Prey by Anamieke Quinn Headin’ out on the open range Bound for pleasure and bound for pain He needs a reason To try and make it home Some sort of reason To walk the night alone By the moonlight he sees her face Full of beauty and full of grace He needs a reason To try and make it home Some sort of reason To walk the night alone The summer sun is setting deeper in the sky Soon you’ll belong to all the creatures of the night Don’t make a difference if you think you know your way If you’re not the predator then you must be the prey Go ahead open up that door But what you’re askin’s a slight bit more Than I am willing To give without a fight More than I’m willing To let in tonight The summer sun is setting deeper in the sky Soon you’ll belong to all the creatures of the night Don’t make a difference if you think you know your way If you’re not the predator than you must be the prey The summer sun is setting deeper in the sky Soon you’ll belong to all the creatures of the night Don’t make a difference if you think you know your way If you’re not the predator than you must be the prey

C'est La Vie 03:50
C’est La Vie By Anamieke Quinn You ain’t got nothin’ on me that I don’t already have Just like a sailor at sea, there is no lookin’ back And I think about what islands are out there I may never behold But all the pearls that I have taken aboard are worth their weight in gold C’est la vie, oh twinkling little star C’est la vie, I wonder what you are C’est la vie, you shine so clear and bright C’est la vie, take me to the morning light You wake to find this is not your house, your beautiful wife You want to set it on fire just to get a little light And you think about the end of the world and where you’d like to be But your world’s tied in a nice little box wrapped up with C’est La Vie C’est la vie, oh twinkling little star C’est la vie, I wonder what you are C’est la vie, you shine so clear and bright C’est la vie, take me to the morning light So you keep moving along, maintain a steady pace But all the signs that you see remind you there’s no race So just sit right back and take it all in, you’ll get there when you can And one day you’ll see you’re already deep inside your master plan C’est la vie, oh twinkling little star C’est la vie, I wonder what you are C’est la vie, you shine so clear and bright C’est la vie, take me to the morning light

Teddy Bears Picnic by Anamieke Quinn If you should go into the woods today Be careful not to trek too far astray Today’s the day the teddy bears have their picnic The teddy bears have their picnic today If you should go into the jungle You might encounter deadly snakes But you can’t be frightened of the jungle No that would be a bigger mistake Oh-whoa-oh-oh-oh, the map unfolds And suddenly it’s all making sense Oh-whoa-oh-oh-oh, when truth be told There is no key, there is no key to happiness If you should go into the ocean Try not to think about your feet ‘Cause the only thing that’s gonna get you Is wondering what may lie beneath Oh-whoa-oh-oh-oh, the map unfolds And suddenly it’s all making sense Oh-whoa-oh-oh-oh, when truth be told There is no key, there is no key to happiness The land is vast, the canyons deep Some treasures too heavy to keep And you’ll never make it ‘cross the prairie If you don’t move while everyone’s asleep Oh-whoa-oh-oh-oh, the map unfolds And suddenly it’s all making sense Oh-whoa-oh-oh-oh, when truth be told There’s no key, there is no key to happiness Happiness

Darkside 04:57
Darkside By Anamieke Quinn Shine a spotlight on my heart Try to see where all the tangles started Push and pull them all apart Trace them back to where the truth got parted When I was young I knew just what I wanted to be Nothing has changed except some of the scenery, so Take me to the dark side of the moon It’s been a while since I have seen that view You could bring your telescope, and we could look at Mars Settle in the moonrock underneath the twinkling stars Revel in the stillness up in zero gravity Far away from all the world and all it means to me, to me All it means to me Smoke and soot roll out the slats Of the engine room that’s always goin’ Past the point of looking back See the steam escape to where it’s roamin’ When I wake up each morning I can feel it inside Seems like the fire’s been burnin’ straight through the night, so Take me to the dark side of the moon It’s been a while since I have seen that view You could bring your telescope, and we could look at Mars Settle in the moonrock underneath the twinkling stars Revel in the stillness up in zero gravity Far away from all the world and all it means to me, to me All it means to me Can’t you hear the sound of a revolution? Here we go again Swimming in the sea of our absolution It will never end Sneak back to the starlit sky Leave no trace behind of ever coming Swirling in the sweet goodbyes Sad but wiser now, and never knowing When I look back beyond the peak of this destiny Just a few words will ring out in my memory, so Take me to the dark side of the moon It’s been a while since I have seen that view You could bring your telescope, and we could look at Mars Settle in the moonrock underneath the twinkling stars Revel in the stillness up in zero gravity Far away from all the world and all it means to me, to me All it means to me Shine a spotlight on my heart Tease and tug it all apart

Valley of the Light By Anamieke Quinn It’s taking everything I have not to dive into something bad I know the water’s pretty deep and there’s no way that I can keep Up with that undertoe it’s gonna pull me under either way But maybe where the water’s flowing leads us to a better day All that I want’s a drink of water from the fountain of my youth But there’s a lamb that goes to slaughter every time we seek the truth I know what’s right and wrong and how to sing the song inside my heart But I am frozen in the headlights, mind and body torn apart I – I – I step into the valley of the light You-ou-ou only see reflections of the truth I – I – I step into the valley of the light You-ou-ou only see reflections of the truth And as my feet slip off the edge I see the consequence ahead The earth will carry me away and things will never be the same But isn’t life all just a gamble full of opportunicosts It’s just the wheel of fortune spinning rounds of wins and rounds of loss In the shadows of this frequency, we’re free to be who we are, we are All, I’m askin’s to be pure of heart, and true to art as we are, we are I – I – I step into the valley of the light You-ou-ou only see reflections of the truth I – I – I step into the valley of the light You-ou-ou only see reflections of the truth

Giddy Up 03:50
GIDDY UP By Anamieke Quinn Giddy up and go, you’ve got a lot of trail to blaze Giddy up and go, or you’ll be caught up in the haze You’d better take time to get things right, because you Never know when God is turnin’ out that light, so Giddy up and go and start a brand new day Giddy up and go, you gotta mighty herd to drive Giddy up and go, it’s gonna be a crazy ride They say to thine own self be true, and you Never know who might be lookin’ down on you, so Giddy up and go, into the open range Giddy up Paint, now, don’t be slow Cause we’ve still got a long way to go We can ride all through the night And rest our heads in the morning time Oh we can rest our heads in the morning time Giddy up and go, before the storm comes rollin’ in Giddy up and go, or you’ll be taken by the wind Oh Many young cowboy have fought this fight, but Few of them have ever made it to the light, so Giddy up and go, before it gets too late Oh the Devil’s gonna get you if you lose your way And the preacher man can only help if you pray, but Far too many cattle now have gone astray, so Giddy up….giddy up and go (whistle) Giddy up Paint, now, don’t be slow Cause we’ve still got a long way to go We can ride all through the night And rest our heads in the morning time Oh we can rest our heads in the morning time

This Point In Time (free) 05:29
This Point In Time By Anamieke Quinn Summertime has come and gone It’s back to school for everyone Before October even comes I’ve got my costume and my gloves The future’s written by the past And this adventure’s not the last Here we go, round the block A cleaner slate on which to rock the boat’s arrived My ship’s come in, better climb aboard and don’t look back again The wind is blowin’ from the East And folks keep dancin’ to the beat Before Thanksgiving games are played I’ve got my aces saved in spades The future’s written by the past And only fleeting moments last Straight ahead, feel the breeze See the forest through the trees and just relax With peace of mind, all we’ve ever done’s led to this point in time This point in ti-me This point in time is not just numbers But a new found state of mind This point in time will tell the answers We have come so far to fi-nd The smell of firewood fills the air And pine trees crowd the city square Before the holidays consume I’ll get my floorplan inked in blue The future’s written by the past And certain things were built to last Here we go, round the block A cleaner slate on which to rock the boat’s arrived My ship’s come in, better climb aboard and don’t look back again Straight ahead, feel the breeze See the forest through the trees and just relax With peace of mind, all we’ve ever done’s led to this point in time This point in ti-me This point in time is not just numbers But a new found state of mind This point in time will tell the answers We have come so far to fi------ind

Float Away 04:44
FLOAT AWAY Anamieke Quinn I might as well live in the ocean today And let the current nearly sweep me away The passing creatures barely notice me tumbling by And I begin to wonder why…… I might as well live like a butterfly And never have to flap my wings to get by I could float upon the gentle springtime breeze And be admired by the flowers and trees But I don’t want to live like a butterfly I much prefer the caterpillar’s dirt and grime Don’t care to swim below the surface where the people glow So I float, float, away I might as well live in my tropical dream My own deserted desert island jungle scene Complete with luscious man and coconut trees in white sand that meet the turquoise waves at the shore…… I don’t worry anymore I might as well live in the ocean today Or be the lovely butterfly that glides away Or I could nestle in some palm fronds in my paradise I might as well just wrap a blindfold all around my eyes ‘Cause I don’t care to live in a beautiful lie I much prefer the truth behind the tears I cry Don’t care to swim below the surface where the people glow So I float, float away

BURN MUCH BRIGHTER by Anamieke Quinn All of the time I spent getting to know you, I didn’t get to know you at all And when I was thinking that we’d made some progress, it all had to go on hold Cause you sailed away to other lands to seek your destiny And I’ll never forget the last smile that you gave me, before you were set free And my heart won’t stop aching, but my soul is on fire And the lesson I’m taking, is to burn much brighter I had my complaints and I told you about them to set all the records straight You shared with me some of the things you’d been feeling before it was too late And I can’t believe we had the chance to swim into the deep I’m still holding my breath ‘til we get to the surface, so I’ll see you in my sleep And my heart won’t stop aching, but my soul is on fire And the lesson I’m taking, is to burn much brighter To burn much brighter And someday we’ll see it all, as clear as the Arizona skies But right now this vacancy is bigger than I can describe Cause you left behind a trail of dust that clouded up my lungs But I can’t deny that it’s made me try to step into what I’ve become So I’ll put on Hank Williams and pour me a whiskey and cue up some Funny or Die I’ll remember that heat radiating around you, whenever you were nearby Cause you touched my heart, and you touched my soul, but it still feels like a dream And Cinco de Mayo is Tuesday my brother and I’d hoped we’d see each other again Yes I’d hoped we’d see each other again

about

Desert psych rock band Treasurefruit released their full-length debut Oct 30, 2015. Recorded on reel-to-reel tape and mixed by hand on a vintage desk, "Poisonous Dwellers of the Desert" offers fresh modern rock informed by elements from Django to Hank to Hendrix.

Since its release the ensemble has expanded to include some smooth horns and doo-wop girls for the live performances whenever possible. Treasurefruit is currently working on their second album.

Fronted by singer/songwriter Anamieke Quinn, Phoenix's "Desert Noir" pioneers elegantly weave psychedelic rock, western roots and soulful jazz pop into moonlit dreamscapes of the Great Southwest.

Treasurefruit was recently named one of the “Top Ten Female-Fronted Bands in Phoenix” by the Phoenix New Times, and singer/songwriter Quinn was the 2016 recipient of the annual Songbird Award by culture blog Yab Yum Music and Arts.
